Produce Express has partnered with Riverdog Farms for the purpose of distributing their produce to our restaurant customers. Riverdog Farms is a 110 acre Certified Organic farm located in Guinda, Ca.-a few miles west of Woodland on Highway 16 in Yolo County. Riverdog is one of many small organic farms in the area around Cache Creek and the Capay Valley. Their primary distribution sources are Bay Area restaurants and Berkeley and Marin farmer’s markets. In our area, they deliver to the Sacramento Natural Food Co- op and Whole Foods. Our newly established relationship will make their products available to all of our restaurant and retail customers. The demand for Organic Produce continues to grow and we are very pleased with this association with Riverdog Farms. Whether your interest is organic or not, the produce from Riverdog is of high quality and represents the best in local and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Initially, Produce Express will not be stocking all available items until we are able to establish demand. In order to do so, we ask that you order from the list and return it to us by fax. Riverdog will be delivering to our warehouse on Tuesdays and Fridays and we will deliver on Wednesdays and Saturdays. As Riverdog is a small farm, quantities may be limited.    Sales of organic produce now total $10 billion per year nation wide. While seemingly a large amount, it only represents 3-4% of all produce sales. However, there is enough interest in organics to attract both large and small farms and growers. As a result, almost all varieties of fruits and vegetables are grown organically. At Produce Express, the vast majority of our produce is ‘conventional’ because that is our market and it is what our customers request.
