What does it take to talk olives, think olives, eat olives, and even dream olives on a daily basis? If you asked Maurice and Cindy Penna, a husband and wife pair of olive enthusiasts and growers, they would tell you that all it takes is a love of olives. They are passionate about sharing that love with the world.
Founded in 1998, we were the first company to take American olive oil to a whole new level. While olives have grown in California for hundreds of years, we’ve pioneered new ways of cultivating and harvesting olives in order to make our extra virgin olive oil premium and affordable. We’ve developed our own ranches and helped family farmers throughout Northern California develop previously unusable farm acreage into olive orchards. The approach we take on growing olives uses time honored farming techniques while fully embracing modern technology; we even have apps that chart the history of each orchard. And we use sustainable production methods every step of the way. All of our extra virgin olive oils are certified extra virgin by the California Olive Oil Council (COOC).
FAMILY FARMS SINCE 1937
Committed to producing the finest quality rice and rice products for your family. Since 1937, the Lundberg family has been growing healthy, great tasting rice while respecting and sustaining the earth. Today, the third and fourth generations carry on the family heritage by using eco-positive farming methods that produce wholesome, healthful rice, rice cakes, rice chips and risottos while improving and protecting the environment for generations to come.
We moved to Apple Hill® (Camino, CA ) from Foster City, CA in 1976 and fell in love with our ranch as soon as we saw it. A multitude of apple and pear trees, a log house, a large cold storage building and a complete fruit packing line were all part of the purchase. We certainly didn’t realize how much work was involved in owning an orchard and packing mill.
