Fall farmer's market
November 6th, 2019 | 10am-1pm 

Our annual Fall Farmer’s Market is just around the corner! This event will give you an opportunity to meet the local farmers and producers who supply us with their local crops and products. The event is open to all restaurant employees and is a great opportunity to educate yourself and your staff about how your food is grown and where it comes from. Please come, meet the farmers, sample delicious treats from local chefs and learn about the benefits of supporting the Farm to Fork movement.
We have over 30 chefs and farmers joining us this season. This market will feature a wonderful selection from our purveyors and farms, including: Dragon Gourmet Mushrooms, Elegant Beans, Field Fresh Farms, Full Belly Farm, Jones & Co. Vanilla, La Tourangelle, Nicolau Farms, Riverdog Farm, Rue & Forsman Ranch, Sierra Nevada Cheese Co., Sparrow Lane, Twin Peaks, Yeung Farms, and Z Specialty just to name a few!
We are fortunate to have a generous amount of chefs who will be aiding in showcasing the local produce and locally crafted products. A few of our participating restaurants include: Alaro Craft Brewery, AR Provisions, Asante Catering, Bella Bru, Beth Sogaard Catering, Buho Bakery, Fixins, Grateful Bread, Mulvaney’s B&L, Nixtaco, Origami, Taste, Volcano Union Inn, The Waterboy, Watershed at the Owl, and more!
Everyone in the industry is welcome to attend and we encourage you to spread the word!

Seasonal produce update

Larsen Apple no logo 300x300Apples- Apples from Apple Hill in Camino, CA. We are currently stocking the following by the 40# case: Braeburn, Fuji, Gala (also available by the 10# case), Golden, Granny, Mutsu, Winesap, and Pippen.
Pears– Local Pears are available from Stillwater Orchards. Bartlett, Bosc, Comice, French Butter, Red Crimson, and Seckle.Persimmons (Fuyu)- Grown by Del Rio Botanical, Twin Peaks Orchards, and various local farms. Sold by the 16-18ct case only.
Pomegranates- Available from various growers in the Yuba City area. Sold by the 20-24ct case and by the piece.
Greens- Red and Rainbow Chard, Bloomsdale Spinach, and Collard Greens are currently available from Fully Belly Farm. Braising Mix and Red Frisee are in stock from Del Rio Botanical.
Hard Squash- Sugar Pie Pumpkins and Honeynut Squash available from Full Belly Farm. Butternut and Spaghetti squash available from F&D Farm in Woodland, CA. We are also offering Delicata and Kabocha Squash from Yeung Farms.
Chestnuts (whole)– Available from Twin Peaks Orchards by the 5# case.

Jones & Co. Vanilla and Flavorings

jones and co vanilla 300x300Vanilla cultivation is a specialty that requires years of constant tending and a complex, exacting combination of soil, sun, rain, hand-pollinating and curing. We partner with a locally based company, Jones & Co., to source high quality vanilla and vanilla products from small vanilla bean farmers in remote growing regions around the world. Products are packed in Auburn. We proudly offer the following:
Pure Vanilla Powder *NEW* (1.5# jar)- vanilla bean extractives in a dextrose base; ideal for adding concentrated vanilla flavor without the alcohol found in liquid extract.
Sweet Dough Powder *NEW* (1.5# jar)- natural sweet vanilla and citrus flavors in a dextrose base add delicious flavor to pancake and waffle mixes, cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, pastries and more.
Vanilla Sugar *NEW* (2# jar)- made with pure cane sugar and finely ground vanilla beans grown and cured in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Add an extra kick to a variety of baking applications.
Cinnamon Sugar *NEW* (2# jar)- made using raw cane sugar and both ground and stick Ceylon-type cinnamon grown in Mexico. Spice up lattes, toast, cookies, frosting and more!
Vanilla Beans (4oz)- grown and cured in Vera Cruz, Mexico by a fourth-generation family of vanilla farmers. The excellent unique flavor of these large beans are the ideal addition to any baking application.
Vanilla Extract (quart)- deep in color and rich in flavor, this house blend extract is perfect for adding delicate sweet flavor to whipped cream, custards, ice cream, a variety of baking applications and more. We also offer Maple Extract, Almond Extract, Lemon Extract and Orange Extract– great for crafting beer, chocolates, cocktails, ice cream and more.
Vanilla Puree (quart)- intense and concentrated house blend purée makes a wonderful addition to a mocha, drizzled over pancakes, added to a pork or salmon glaze, stirred into a craft cocktail, or baked into coffeecake.
