Provolone is a semi-hard cheese made from pasteurized cow's milk with a smooth, mild flavor (think mozzarella with a fuller flavor). Its shape is that of a large, fat sausage.
Available in a 6# block. Also available sliced in a 12# case (8/1.5# blocks).
Smoked Provoline also available in a 6# block.
The cheese is a perfect accompaniment to hot and cold Italian sandwiches (broccoli rabe, sweet peppers and Provolone is my favorite), pizzas, casseroles, & cured meats
The cheese goes along with full-bodied and aged red wines.
