True Vine Ripe Tomatoes
Vine ripe tomatoes are exactly as their name suggests: tomatoes ripened on the vine. Unlike commercial tomatoes that are picked green and ripen after packing, vine ripes are harvested ready to use. This allows for full sugar and acidity to develop while still in the field. They are harvested and packed the morning of and delivered to us the same evening. In fact, true vines often arrive at our warehouse with the field heat still in them.
Because true vines are often softer than commercial tomatoes, we recommend hand-slicing and using within a few days of delivery.
Grown by Yeung Farms in West Sacramento, sold by the 20# case only. True vine romas are also available in 20# cases.

Local Produce Update
